Our Story

The Cape Breton Culture Conservatory is a non-profit foundation founded to sponsor cultural and nature protection initiatives for future generations.

Projects serve the local community – interests in Celtic music, healthy recreation and protecting coastlines and favourite habitats.

Foundation benefactors and leaders have generational roots in the region and take a long-term view to community-based projects.

Our vision

The foundation was created in the spirit of giving back to our family’s community by sponsoring local volunteer organizations that are doing great work to promote and conserve culture in the region. The society is not raising funds and encourages visitors to this website to give directly to organizations they wish to support. From our boards direct connections to the leadership of local organizations, our work is behind the scenes, and we focus donation planning on a few leading causes with a shared, long-term outlook. This simple website was built to help promote local culture and other organizations, and it will not be commercialized with advertising, or used as a site to solicit funding applications.
